Audits and Assessments

To make sure you are optimizing your staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors to realize ongoing fundraising success, Katharine conducts a development assessment with key personnel to determine the “culture of philanthropy” within your organization. A thorough analysis of your donor database lets you unearth the “gold in your goldmine.”

Philanthropy

Is your family foundation optimizing its giving? As America witnesses its greatest transfer of wealth during the next decades, family foundations will experience tremendous growth with trillions transferring to the non-profit sector. Katharine created and led the Nimoy Foundation with philanthropists Leonard and Susan Nimoy. With the Presidents of the Ford, Rockefeller, Rasmuson, and Prudential Foundations, she founded United States Artists in 2005, which annually awards 50 grants of $50,000 each to leading American artists.

At the Fielding Graduate University, she worked with First Foundation Advisors to design and teach an in-depth program focused on best practices in family foundation management. Most recently, she conceptualized and completed a study on the viability of a national Native American philanthropy with leaders in the gaming industry.

Katharine is frequent speaker on a variety of topics impacting the non-profit sector. Whether as a keynote, panelist, or teacher in live, webinar, television, or on-air settings, she delivers compelling and current information on subjects such as philanthropic trends, board development, diversity in volunteer and staff ranks, major donor strategies, next generation giving, crowd funding, etc. When her new memoir is released in late 2023—with an introduction by Darren Walker, President of the Ford Foundation—she will be available for appearances related to the book.
